Enemy Raid on the Fredericksburg

Between 3 and 4 o'clock
yesterday afternoon, about three hundred of the enemy, supposed to
have been detached from the column repulsed on the Brooke road, went
to Reeves', on the Fredericksburg railroad, ten miles from Richmond,
and burnt the locomotive Nicholas Mills, and several flats. They also
burnt five hundred cords of wood, belonging to Mr. Luther Ellis. The
railroad track was not damaged. The trains on the road will resume
their regular trips today. |
