A conference of the Stockholders of the
Port Royal Railroad was held at Allendale, Barnwell District, on
Tuesday, the 19th inst., J. V. Martin, Esq., in the Chair. The
majority of the stock not being represented, no business was
transacted. The Engineer's report of the two last surveys was read by
President Davant, for the information of those stockholders present.
The line for thirty-five miles has already been adopted, and will be
put under contract immediately after the next meeting, which will be
held at Allendale on the 28th inst. It is very important that a
majority of the stock shall be represented at that meeting. |
