Accident on the Greenville & Columbia Railroad |
The up train on the Greenville Railroad
met with a serious accident on Tuesday morning. A rail on the road broke
as the train was approaching a trestle-work over a creek this side of
Bookter's plantation, which threw one passenger car off the bridge, some
twenty-two feet into the creek. About fifteen passengers (mostly
soldiers) were wounded. Among the wounded was the Rev. Mr. Moise,
injured seriously in the knee, but was able to go on. |
