| Fatal Explosion |
| A locomotive boiler, attached to a dirt
train on the Wilmington & Manchester Railroad, exploded at Florence
Depot on Saturday morning, killing three men instantly and wounding the
Engineer. The killed were a Mr. Kirby, of Timmonsville, S. C.; Murphy
Kelly, an employee of the Company, and the fireman, a colored man. The
Engineer received a very severe wound in the head. |
