| The Accident on the South Carolina Railroad |
| We have some further particulars of the
accident on the South Carolina Railroad last Thursday night. The truck
of the engine broke, causing the engine to tear off a portion of the
track, and thus precipitating the cars from it. Mr. H. S. Millis,
Express Messenger, losing his life by the accident. It appears that when
he saw the car turning over, he jumped from it, the car falling upon him
and killing him. The Mail Agent and a negro man, who were in the same
car with Mr. Millis, remained inside, and escaped unhurt. |
