Budd's Creek bridge, about ten miles from
this place, on the Memphis & Clarksville Railroad {Memphis,
Clarksville & Louisville RR}, was burned in three places,
on Saturday night last. It was undoubtedly the work of some Lincoln
incendiary. Our military authorities cannot be too vigilant in the
protection of our Railroad and river. Let guards be stationed at each
bridge, as has been done in East Tennessee, for we have almost as much
to fear as the Railroad Co's., in that division of the State. "A
stitch in time, &c." |
