Death of Maj. Rowland |
The community was startled
this morning to learn that Major John S. Rowland, Superintendent of the
Western & Atlantic Railroad died last night of a very severe attack of
diarrhea, after a very short illness, his attack being on Wednesday
last. He was a highly respectable and useful citizen of Bartow county,
and has been Superintendent of the State Road since the resignation of
Dr. Lewis. His acquaintance is very extensive, by all of whom his demise
will be deeply regretted. |
