| A Skirmish with Camp Butler |
| Western Trains Stopped -- Horses and Beeves Captured,
Etc. |
| Annapolis, May 10 |
| |
| ***** The Baltimore train was stopped by
the Virginia troops ten miles West of Frederick {probably
at Point of Rocks, on the Baltimore & Ohio RR}, and
examined. The same thing will be done to all Western trains. Four
hundred Virginians are strongly posted near Frederick. |
| A train of Western cars, with a lot of
horses and a hundred beeves, bound to Baltimore, was captured at
Harper's Ferry. |
| {Both were precursors to
Jackson's haul the next month.} |
