Hill & Swayze's Confederate States
Railroad Guide |
We have before us the June
number of this popular and useful work. It is enlarged and greatly
improved every way. The first two issues were naturally defective, but
all the defects are being rapidly remedied. It contains a complete
guide to all the railroads and hotels in the Confederate States. It is
really one of the most useful and creditable publications of the day.
The publishers are enterprising, have gone into the work in earnest,
and will not stop till it shall have rivaled Appleton's. They are with
us and of us, and have a local habitation and a name, and are well
known. Indeed, it is now every way equal to theirs, except the maps.
The present number has a good supply of the choicest railroad reading,
and a short description of nearly every railroad depot in the
Confederate States. It is for sale by the book-sellers. |
