As the Southward bound
passenger train was passing over the bridge across the Perdido River
last night, the bridge gave way, and then out of eleven cars on the
train went down. We wait with painful anxiety the details of the sad
accident. Mr. Palmer, Agent at Pollard, had heard no particulars at
the time he telegraphed. |
Perdido River is a small
stream where it is crossed by the railroad, and is about 25 miles
Southwest of Pollard, and nearly equal distance from Pollard and
Tensas. |
