A Telegraph Station |
Is greatly needed at Kingston.
We learn that the courier from Rome bringing the news of the approach
of the Yankee cavalry, arrived at Kingston not five minutes before the
departure of the train down the road to this place. Five minutes later
would have delayed the news of the raid twelve hours in reaching this
place, in which time the Yankees could have come to Etowah, or even
here, if they had had not other impediment. The interest of the
country and the State road, it seems to us, demand a telegraph office
at Kingston. |
