Railroad Accident |
We regret to learn from the
Sumter Republican, that on Thursday last, the passenger train from
Macon to Americus {South Western RR} ran
off the track, seven miles from the latter place, at Sweet Water
Creek, and twelve or fifteen persons were more or less inured. The
engine and all the cars but one were thrown from the track and badly
smashed up. The engineer reports that the track was torn up, which was
the cause of the accident. |
