The Weather |
Yesterday morning the
thermometer in this city stood at 23. In the afternoon and towards
night it considerably moderated. |
We had no mails yesterday
morning. The trains on the Georgia and State {Western
& Atlantic RR} Roads, which were due at 2 and 3 a.m.
respectively, did not arrive till in the afternoon. We learn that the
trains on the State road were greatly retarded all the day, making but
little headway. The down train, which passed Kingston Wednesday night,
had made only ten miles when the accommodation train from that point
came down. A train arrived here just at dark, which left Dalton at
daylight. |
