Wanted, for the Alabama
Division of the Blue Mountain & Rome R. R. (37 miles,) 90,000
Cross Ties -- delivered along the line of road, about 2,400 per mile.
The ties must be 8 1/2 feet long -- seven inches thick, and have a
face of at least 8 inches -- sawed or cut square at the ends, well
hawed on both sides, barked, and piled convenient to the Road bed, at
the rate of 15 ties for 100 feet. |
Post and White Oak timber
preferred; the varieties of oak, and pine, when chiefly heart, will
also be received. |
The ties will be let in large
or small lots, and payments made on certificate of delivery. |
Proposals will be received for
20 days. |
