The Mississippian states that
in a few days the railroad connection will be completed from Meridian
to Selma {except that the crossing of the
Tombigbee River will be by ferry until after the war}. Between
the latter point and Montgomery, a distance of thirty miles, the
connection will be made by steamboat. |
