Financial -- East Tennessee & Georgia
Railroad |
We understand that the
Depository at this place, Dr. J. G. M. Ramey, sold yesterday to Major
Wallace, President of the East Tennessee & Georgia Railroad
company, four hundred thousand dollars worth of 8 per cent. coupon
bonds, and that the same officer has ordered an additional hundred
thousand dollars worth of these securities -- making altogether the
handsome investment of half a million of dollars for his company. The
investment itself, at 8 per cent., will be a great addition to the
already large revenue of the company. |
We congratulate the
stockholders upon the prosperous condition of this road, and the
financial skill and efficiency of their presiding officer. |
