Death of Maj. John S. Rowland |
We are pained to announce the death of this gentleman,
who expired at his residence in Bartow county on Friday evening, after
a short but severe illness. In his death the State has lost a faithful
officer, who, as superintendent of the State, or Western &
Atlantic Railroad, labored most efficiently to promote the public
interests, as well as those of the Road. He has died full of years,
honored and beloved by all who knew him. Peace to his ashes!
