The freight train on the Va.
& Tennessee Railroad ran off a few miles above Forest Depot, on
Saturday last. While assisting in the effort to replace the cars on
the track, Mr. John Nuckols, of Lynchburg, an employee of the Company,
was forced into an embankment by a detached car, and almost literally
buried. He was extricated with much difficulty, but the injuries he
received were of an internal character and have since proved fatal. |
