Fine Cattle |
A drove of upwards of fifty
head of fat Cattle passed through our village on Tuesday evening last.
They were purchased by our excellent and enterprising fellow citizen,
Lewis D. Means, esq., in Pulaski County, in this state, and were taken
to Lynchburg on the Virginia & Tennessee Railroad whence they were
brought to Fairfax Station on the Orange & Alexandria Railroad --
thus travelling a distance of over 350 miles by rail. They were a very
superior lot of Cattle, and the first, we believe, ever landed at
Fairfax Station intended for the District markets. |
