Cotton |
We learn that the Orange &
Alexandria Railroad Company have contracted to bring to this city,
over their road, two thousand bails of cotton to be shipped from this
port to New York in steamers. The Cotton is from Memphis, and to be
brought to Lynchburg over the Virginia & Tennessee Railroad. This
is but the beginning of a heavy trade to be done in cotton by the new
route. |
