Telegraph Communication Re-established with
Macon |

The following dispatch was
received at the Telegraph Office, in this city, last night: |
Gordon, July 31 |

There was a fight near Macon
yesterday. It is reported we repulsed the enemy. |
Walnut Creek bridge is
destroyed. |
Telegraph communication is
re-established with Macon. |
All the cars at Gordon, except
those containing families, were burned. The locomotives were only
slightly damaged. {on the Central (of Georgia)} |
