Railroad Collision |
A freight train on the Atlanta
& West Point railroad, on the 10th inst., about four miles beyond
LaGrange, ran into a passenger train with great force, smashing the
platforms and ends of all the cars in the passenger train, and causing
the death of two persons and the wounding of several others. The
following were the unfortunate victims of the casualty: Killed: Wm. S.
Harrison, 5th company Washington Artillery; Andrew Mondon, company H,
7th Texas; Wounded: Peter McGill, company H, 29th Georgia, since died;
George Davis, company G, 1st Louisiana, leg amputated; Cherry Bryant,
citizen of Eutaw, Green county, Ala., leg amputated. One negro man was
killed and one severely wounded. |
