Central {(of
Georgia)} Railroad |
The Columbus Sun, on the 5th
instant, says, parties from the vicinity of Sherman's march along the
Central Railroad represent that the road is injured beyond any
reasonable period of time. Every telegraph pole has been cut up and
burned, all the insulators broken to pieces and the wires badly cut
up. |
The Southern Telegraph Company
has commenced rebuilding its line. Over sixty-five miles has already
been repaired. We are assured that the work will be pushed on as
speedily as possible, but as new poles have to be put up and brackets
and insulators provided, some time must elapse before it can be
finished. |
