IV. Mr. J. D. Whitford is charged with the duty of destroying all the
cotton and naval stores on & near the Newbern Railroad
{Atlantic & North Carolina RR} whenever
they are in danger of falling into the hands of the enemy. Commanding
officers are enjoined to afford Mr. Whitford every facility in their
power, when it becomes necessary to execute this order. |
