I am directed by the Commandant of Conscripts for N. C. to
request that you will forward to this office with as little delay as
possible a complete list of all employees liable to Conscription on your
Road giving the Height Complexion Color of eves hair and the country to
which each belong in accordance with paragraph V Section B General
Orders No 26 Adjt & Inspector General's Office 1864. |

This application will be made subject to the Commandant of
Conscript who will grant the certificate of exemption upon a compliance
with the conditions contained in Act of Congress, Approved Feby 17th
1864. A copy of which is herewith enclosed for your information and
guidance. |
