| A call meeting of the Board of directors
was held at the Yarborough House at 11 oclock AM |

| The President brought to the attention of
the Board an official copy of the letter from A C Myers Quarter Master
Genl directed to A. F. Cone Chief QM at Goldsboro instructing him to
take Iron from the A&NC RR to be delivered to the Chief Engr of the
Piedmont RR. |
| After mature deliberation of the subject
by the Board the following resolution offered by Mr Thomson was
unanimously adopted. |
| Res. That the President be and is hereby
instructed to lay before His Excellency Gov. Vance an official copy of
the communication from A C Myers Qr Master Genl of the Confederate
States to Major Cone Chief Qr Master at Goldsboro in the relation to the
seizure of the portion of Iron belonging to the A&NC RR Co for the use
of the Piedmont RR Co. and the fact of the interest of the State of N.
C. in said iron and such other facts in connection therewith as he may
deem proper protested in the name of and in behalf of the Co against any
such seizure, and requesting His Excellency to lay the matter before the
present General Assembly or take such other steps as he may deem proper
to prevent the seizure of said Iron. |
