I have the honor to enclose herewith the
"Commissions of the Directors of the Western N. C. R. R. Co. on
the part of the State for the year next ensuing. The appointments
were made on the 18th of June last. |
Your resignation of the Senatorship of
the 46th District has been received, and a writ for an election to
fill the vacancy will issue as soon as possible, you will understand
very soon {hole in paper}
of the seeming delay. |

The Board of Internal Improvement,
reposing special trust and confidence in your integrity and
knowledge of affairs, do hereby Commission you Director of the
Western North Carolina Rail Road Company for twelve calendar months
from sad after the next annual meeting of the Stockholders of said
Company and in all things to exercise the duties and powers of such
appointment according to your best judgment and discretion. |
