| The interests of the state
require that I should request you to run your trains on the Manassas
Gap Rail Road from Alexandria, at such times as to meet at the
Manassas Junction the running passenger train from this City {the
Orange & Alexandria RR, which connected with the Virginia Central
RR}, and
return on such a manner as to meet at the same point, the return
passenger train from Alexandria, next morning. |
| It is further requested that
you will concert measures with the Harpers Ferry & Winchester Road
{Winchester & Potomac RR} in such a manner that the journey from Harpers Ferry to Richmond may
be performed in either direction in 24 hours. |
