Know all men by these presents, that we, J. O. Wheeler,
Superintendent of the Mexican Gulf & San Antonio Rail Road, as
principal, and A D Beaty and John A. Cunningham as sureties, are held
and firmly bound to the Confederate States of America, in the sum of
Five Thousand Dollars, lawful money of the Confederate States, for which
payment, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, and each of us,
our and each of our heirs, executors, and administrators for and in the
whole, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents, sealed with our
seals, dated the 27th day of March, in the year of our Lord Eighteen
Hundred and Sixty Two. |
The nature of this obligation is such that
if the above bounder J. O. Wheeler, or his successors in officer, shall
and do in all things well and truly, observe, perform, fulfill,
accomplish and keep all and singular, the covenants, conditions and
agreements, whatsoever which on the part of the said J. O. Wheeler, or
his successors in office, are or ought to be observed, performed
fulfilled, accomplished, and kept, comprised or mentioned in certain
