Mr. O. M. Avery, the Superintendent of
the Alabama & Florida {(of Florida)} Rail
Road, is here with a strong remonstrance against the application of
the iron of that road to the Selma & Meridian connection {Alabama
& Mississippi Rivers RR}. He says that it is not
necessary for the purpose, and that iron can be had from the
following sources: Six miles of iron of the {Montgomery
&} Eufaula Road {?}, for
sale in Montgomery, about this see Col. S. G. Jones, Montgomery,
Thirty-two miles of the Cahaba, Marion & Greensboro Road, to be
sold out the 1st Monday in July. See Col. Jones or the Trustees
advertising in the "Montgomery Advertiser." If this be so,
we do not wish the iron of the Alabama & Florida taken.
Ascertain the facts as quickly as possible and telegraph to me. |
