Your letter of the 30th lt. has been received. I should
prefer the President of the Railroads should correspond among
themselves, or assemble by their own arrangements to consider the
subject of procuring supplies from abroad. I am unwilling to intervene
officially in matters relating so exclusively to their own interests. |
