Despatch rec'd a force of the enemy
reported five hundred to fifteen hundred came out as far as Oakfield
day before yesterday & returned to Pensacola we hear of no
movements making by the enemy for an advance into the country
Merritt Cozzens judge Wright & son were arrested by the Federals
day before yesterday the iron gang have destroyed pine barren
bridge they have progressed about 27 miles this side of Pine Barren
taking up the iron an order has been issued for two car loads of
your iron to go on the Mobile Road {probably
Mobile & Ohio RR} for switches. |
