The agents on the line of the Va &
Tenn RR have been ordered by Genl Heths QM not to ship cattle or
bacon to this place. Several thousand sick soldiers are here and
they cannot be fed unless cattle are allowed to be sent here. Even
private families owning farms along the road are not allowed to
bring their own meat for their own consumption. Please have this
changed the people west have more than they can consume and those
east are almost starving if the Govt desires I will see that no meat
for speculation is sent |
