|
Sir, |
Spotts & Harvey, James H.
Blair & C. Ogden, who represent four fifths (4/5) of the stock of the
Fredericksburg Paper Mill Company, ask permission to transport the
machinery of said mill upon the Richmond Fred. & Potomac Rail-road, from
Fredericksburg to the City of Richmond & that facilities for such
transportation may be furnished at their cost, so that the same be not
inconsistent with the company military transportation of said road. |
They have secured a site for
their machinery in Richmond and will consent to let the Government take
at least one third of their manufactures at reasonable rates. The mill
and machinery are now useless as the same have been flooded by the
military authorities, and as they are directly under the guns of the
Yankees on the Stafford heights. |
The machinery, which is new &
of the best description is rapidly going to ruin & will soon be
valueless alike to themselves & the public. |
They respectfully ask that the
said transportation may be permitted them. |
Spotts & Harvey |
James H. Blair |
C. Ogden |
