Dear Sir, |
At a session last evening of a committee of the Senate of
Va you stated in substance that a given quantity of whiskey had been
shipped over your road and that a Quartermaster had given transportation
for the same as "ordnance Stores" I respectfully ask that you will
furnish me with such facts as are within your own knowledge or which are
believed by you to be true connected with this shipment of whiskey and
if the name of the officers giving the transportation is unknown to you
that you will furnish me with such facts as will assist me in
identifying him. My purpose in soliciting the above information is that
I may communicate the same to the QM Genl. Hoping that you will pardon
the trouble which this communication ma occasion you. |
I remain Very Respectfully |
