To Capt
of C. S. A. |

The engine John Williams has been in the
employment of the State of Georgia, through her legally constituted
agents, since the 15th of September past, and has been engaged
regularly, when not in shop, at work for Gr and the C States. She is
now in no condition to be worked, as reported by Mr Anderson Machinist
and in the opinion of Maj Goodwin also. I thereby protest against the
use of the EP engine by the C. S. government or any of her
Authorities. I further protest against her unlawful seizure by any
Authority of the C. S. Government, depriving the State of Georgia,
thereby of her work. So soon as she can be repaired or put in order
for work, steps having already been taken for that purpose, and must
beg to hold them responsible for the act, if indeed it is determined. |
