The condition of the road is such that
the army transportation can no longer collect forage in the country
our sole dependence now is what the Rail Road brings us the amount now
being received in that way is not more than one third of what we
require |

{Supplies for the Petersburg
area, at this time, would come over the South Side RR and the Richmond
& Petersburg RR. The South Side RR, besides what they received at
their own stations, would be supplied by the Richmond & Danville RR
and the Virginia & Tennessee RR} |
