There
are 5 neatly made boxes in this depot, from North Carolina, each
supposed to contain one barrel of Apple Brandy, they came here, as
"Ordnance Stores," but as the owner is to pay the freight, I
presume they are not Government stores, but private property smuggled
through as "Ordnance Stores;" this trade is now I believe carried on to
a large extent, and I request that you will direct what is to be done
with the boxes after examining into the matter. |
