One flat went to pieces with a gun on board, but we hauled it up at low water. We have had no accident to guns, ammunition or men, except one man got his leg broken yesterday. I had 72 horns work, with 6 hours sleep. That is nearly even with you, is n't it? I will send all the ammunition to Savannah, except what I have for small arms. I will also soon send you the implements &c. 2 of my shot furnaces will go on. They must be covered with brick, or earth, with brick or sod chimneys. When covered with brick, they will heat 32 pdr. Shot red in 45 minutes from Kindling the fire. The shot must be put in the rear, & wood under & on the grates. I have another nearly finished. When I get a little more time I will write you & send a number of articles, of no further use here.
Very Respectfully
Your obt. Sevt.
