| I informed you by telegraph today that an
agent, and special train {on the Southern (of
Mississippi) RR}, would leave today to bring three hundred and
fifty beeves reported by you. |
| You will oblige me by affording the
bearer, Mr. J. W. Burton, the Agent sent, the necessary facilities for
a speedy accomplishment of the object. |
| Should additional beeves arrive, or other
subsistence stores, use every precaution for their safe keeping, and
inform me by telegraph as they arrive. |
| If Major J. Dawson is absent please send
him the enclosed letter. |
