Please find above a statement of loss in shipments of corn
made by the R&G RR Co failing to deliver as per receipts for shipments
made to Capt Jas E Haskin AQM Clarksville Va in the month of May last. |

I consigned the corn to Capt Haskin pr order of Qr Mr Genl
& took the RR Co receipt for it and they failed to deliver the quantity
stated in above a/c. In my Quarterly Returns made 1st July 1862 you will
find my certified invoice of shipments, with receipts, from Cao Haskins
& receipts from the R&G RR Co. |

I have recently been informed by Maj C S Carrington QM
Richmond that such losses should be reported to you hence this letter. |
