Dear Sir, |
Private Holt of the Manchester
Artillery was in Hospital at this place at the time that his company was
disbanded & hearing of this from one of his officers & being told that
he need not return to his company when fit for duty he went to work in
our shops & was put on our list of employees & exempted as such. Lately
he has heard that though the company was disbanded & the officers
discharged the men were transferred to another company & the sergeant of
the company is now here to collect all absentees. |
Holt is the 2nd Sergeant of the Military Company formed by
the employees of this Company & was mustered into the service for local
defence. |
He is a good Carpenter & at
the same time very valuable in aiding me in perfecting our military
organization & I shall be very glad if you will detail him to work in
our shops. |
He has not been on duty yet
with the Company to which the members of his company was transferred. |
Very Respectfully |
Your Obt Servant |
