As the R & Danville RR is at
present, & unfit to transport, any thing on said Road, ??ngts its being
torn up by the Enemy & has been destroyed otherways, Such as the burning
of Depots &c, It is impossible for me to Dispatch, business in my Shop
for articles actually necessary for the benefit of the running motive
power unless I had more help than I now have at present. Two of my best
men, namely, Luther Molair, H. T. G. Pollard, I think also it is very
important for me to have the two apprentices, Robt. Fuqua & Jno. Torrey,
if they can be possibly spared. |
The Co: they are attached to
is Co. R. Henly's Battalion which are at present near Chaffin's Farm. |
Very Respectfully |
Henry Sampson |
Mast. Moulder of R. & D. R. R. Co. |
