| Dear Sir, |
| Enclosed you will find a Duplicate of the
Way Bill for the Car Load Forage which was destroyed by fire between
Ringgold & Danville Feby 12th 1864. The original Bill was never
left at this office or misplaced. I am not certain which. Capt.
Hortton says he left it but I never saw it though I was absent the day
the accident occurred & the car was represented to me as though
the Car & all its contents destroyed, but some time after I
received 3 Bales of the straw from Ringgold. *** |
