| I have succeeded at last in getting from
the Roanoke Valley RR Co a settlement of your claim for hire of Engine
Walter Raleigh. As authorized by your letter of 19th inst (received
just as the Prest. of the Co. came into my office from a settlement of
his accounts). I deducted the amount from the Transportation accounts
of the Road. |
| I inclose herewith a certificate of
settlement which I presume will be a sufficient voucher for you.
