This day personally appeared before the
subscriber a Justice of the Peace for said District, Wm. M. Morrison and
made oath that he was in the employment of the Confederate States
under the direction of Capt Thos. R. Sharp A. Q. M. removing Balto
& Ohio Engines and Materials and to his certain knowledge Three
impressed Horses died viz: one about the 28th December 1861, at
Martinsburg Va.; one on
the 10th March 1862 on the Massanutten Mountain, and one on the Valley Turnpike
near Mount Crawford in March 1862, in the performance of the above
service and owing to their condition from hard labor their ownership
could not be identified. |
