This day personally appeared before the
subscriber D. P. McDonald a Justice of the Peace for said District,
Wm. Underdunk, and made oath that he was in the employment of the
Confederate States under Capt Thos. R. Sharp A. Q. M. direction as
teamster removing Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Engines and Materials
and to his knowledge and belief Four Horses, Four Sets Harness and one
Wagon, impressed into the service of the Confederate States by Capt
Thos R. Sharp A. Q. M., were taken from him
by
Asst Quartermaster for 37th Regiment Virginia Volunteers, at Romney,
and that said team was never returned to Capt. Sharp; and that
he saw the team three months after in Genl Jacksons Army, near
Harrisonburg. |
