The different Rail Road Companies whose
accounts I audit and settle require the rates established by the Rail
Road Convention held at Columbia S. C. April 13, 1864 which fixed a
much higher rate of Compensation to go into effect May 1, 1864. |
In the payments of these increased rates
will increase the expenditure items of about fifty per cent more than
I have estimated for since 1 May, I respectfully call attention to the
fact and ask for instructions as to whether I shall pay the increased
rates. |
