Sir, |
You will take charge of five car loads of
Gun Boat plates, now lying ready loaded at the Rolling Mill of Schofield
& Markham & proceed with them as far as Montgomery. Use every exertion
to get them transferred to the Montgomery Road at West Point with the
least possible delay. You will report the arrival of the iron in
Montgomery to Major Harris, Quartermaster, & request him to have it
hauled to the steamboat landing as soon as possible. This work completed
you will return to Atlanta. |
