In obedience to your order I left here on
the morning of the 6th and proceeded to Rienzi
{Mobile & Ohio RR} at which place I found one car load of cannon
consisting of two 6 pdr Brass Guns & one 12 pdr Howitzer, the RR agent
reported that they were left there because the cars on which they were
loaded was unserviceable, I sent them on another car, but as the trains
own were loaded I was unable to get them shipped, as I could accomplish
nothing by waiting I returned to this place last night, The guns left at
Rienzi were not in any one's charge. |
